Educating the Whole Child
We cater for the academic, creative, physical, and spiritual well-being of our students through a holistic approach to learning. We have an emphasis on quality, motivation, and enthusiasm: expectations of the students are high and not just academically.
Our facilities enable us to offer a range of sports, both within the curriculum and in our extensive after-school activities’ program. As a member of FOBISSEA our students regularly have the opportunity to represent the school in regional sports, swimming, and music events. Our students also perform in drama and musical productions that reflect the quality of our facilities and instruction.
Established as part of Seoul Foreign School in 1981, SFBS is the oldest British curriculum school in Seoul, and the only international school to hold a registration number with the UK Department for Education (DfE) in Seoul. We have unsurpassed local experience offering the English National Curriculum (ENC), which provides the rigor and breadth necessary for 21st century success.
Our students are keen learners and our assessment scores reflect this - we teach to a standard that matches those expectations. Our students routinely score above the usual UK norms on the Standardised Assessment Tasks undertaken at the end of both Key Stage 2 and 3.
We offer an Early Years Program/Key Stage 1, which covers Reception - Year 2, Key Stage 2 is Years 3 - 6, while Key Stage 3 is Years 7 - 9. Our students then transfer seamlessly into the High School.
SFBS offers a distinctly British curriculum in a truly international context. Our curriculum has been adapted to reflect the international nature of our students and our location in Korea. At SFBS we embrace our international diversity, with students representing approximately 38 nationalities including such countries as the US, UK, Australia, Korea, Japan, Canada, India, Netherlands and Germany.
