Celebration of Life: Richard F. Underwood

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of our beloved former Head of School, Richard F. Underwood. Dick, the son of SFS's first teacher, dedicated his life to our school. As the first Head of School from 1961 until his retirement in 1992, his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment shaped Seoul Foreign School into what it is today.

Great Teachers Make Great Schools - Article

Great schools grow great students. Many private international schools jump at the opportunity to claim the success of the next generation as their own. Schools tend to credit “state-of-the-art” facilities and “renowned” programs for this bounty. Carefully designed learning spaces, challenging and extracurricular amenities are certainly important, and every inch of Seoul Foreign School’s 25-acre campus is very much dedicated to enhancing every student’s talents and interests. However, I believe schools need to dig deeper and focus more on the experts at the heart of the machine. VoiceLab "Into the Gu"

After a hiatus due to the pandemic, Middle School students have gone back "Into the Gu". This popular VoiceLab project asks students to engage with our local neighborhoods by interviewing community members and creating a video documenting their experience.

The British School Celebrates 40 Years

Throughout this school year, the British School community has taken time to commemorate this very significant occasion - celebrating the past 40 years, reflecting on its history, and planning for the future. In May, two weeks of special events included a homeroom decorating contest, the creation of a time capsule, a 1980s-themed dress-up day, a parents morning tea, a flag parade, and finally an all-school British style street party featuring fair games, a bouncy castle, and other fun activities for students and faculty.
