SFS Receives Seoul Mayor's Award

On December 3, SFS was recognized at the 2025 Seoul City Food Bank Donor Appreciation Night as one of 11 recipients of the Seoul Mayor's Award in the Community Contribution and In-Kind Giving Category.

Jean Kim, Christian Ministries/Service Coordinator, shared the following: 

This award really belongs to our students, who for the past decade have carried out the mission of caring for underprivileged families and the elderly in Seodaemungu. When Mr. Flanagan came to our school, he brought with him a vision—one that encouraged us to open our doors and for our students to build partnerships with the local community.

As their awareness of the needs around them grew, so did their care for those who were suffering. This awakening has become vital to our mission of building character, rooted in the act of caring for others, as modeled by Christ himself. Mr. Flanagan poignantly expressed that the more opportunities students have to serve, the more likely they are to carry those habits into life beyond SFS.

Our goal is not simply for students to do good works out of charity, but to build relationships grounded in care. In this small but meaningful way, SFS is helping to shape a kinder world through the caring hearts of our students. We thank Seoul City for recognizing this endeavor and look forward to continuing to build meaningful partnerships within our local community.
