Pre-Kindergarten 3/4

This is the break down of how the day will look like for Pre-Kindergarten students throughout each day. Below are the classes that are offered within each session.
Session 1: June 13 - 17, 2022
KinderGARDEN
KinderGARDEN aims to teach students about the wonders of growing plants. Students will begin by learning the different stages of plant growth, before getting the opportunity to plant their very own specimens in the SFS gardens. After planting their own specimens, students will return each day to learn the ins and outs of taking care of their plants, such as watering, weeding, and harvesting.
Story Inventory
In Story Inventory, students will explore a new book each day and engage in different activities relating to each book. Students will explore works from authors such as Eric Carle and Mo Willems. Activities may include acting and art, determined by the instructor and their book of choice for each class. This course is intended to strengthen students’ reading and comprehension skills.
Session 2: June 20 - 24, 2022
Explore Your World
Explore Your World is designed to teach students about the world around them through geography. Students will learn about different countries and their cultures, basic understanding of the four main compass directions, and use a globe to locate different places in the world. Through this, students will develop a better understanding of our world.
Session 3: June 27 - July 1, 2022
Break it Down
Break it Down is a dance course where students will learn several different choreographies and perform them at the end of the session. This class aims to engage students physically and mentally, while listening to the rhythm of the beat.
Session 5: July 11 - 15, 2022
Artist a Day
Artist a Day is a course designed to introduce different art techniques and styles to students. Students will have the opportunity to explore the world of art through introductions to diverse artists and their expression styles. Students will be encouraged to recognize their own style and apply it to a work of their own.
Mission Impossible will test students against a series of obstacle courses. Students will be challenged to solve the puzzles along a course as fast as they can. Through various iterations, students will enhance their balance and hand eye coordination, as well as develop their problem solving skills.
Session 6: July 18 - 22, 2022
Fun Messy Science
This science course is designed to introduce students to a plethora of scientific concepts. Through fun and messy experiments, students will conduct a new and exciting experiment each day, exploring the laws that govern our world. Among the concepts that students will get hands-on with include non-Newtonian fluids, gas compression reactions, and many more fun and engaging experiments.

Counselor to Student Ratio
Depending on a student's grade, the counselor to student ratio will vary to ensure the safety of all students. In-Class ratios are smaller with the addition of the instructor.

The items in the following list are required for students to experience camp to its fullest. Please note that if your child is missing items from the packing list below, it may affect their participation in activities. Please label all of your child's items with his/her name and Student ID number. Please do not bring shampoo, lotion, etc. as it an create a slipping hazard in the locker rooms.
