Jeju Day Camp students will need to be dropped off at Camphor Tree Hotel & Resort between 8:00 - 8:20AM and picked up at Camphor Tree Hotel & Resort between 5:30 - 6:30PM. During camp hours, students and Camp SFS staff will be transported by SFS buses to explore the island.

This is the break down of how the day will look like for students throughout each day. Below are the locations that students will be visiting throughout the week.
Location Descriptions
Bijarim Forest - Ecological
Bijarim Forest is home to more than 2,800 Torreya nucifera or Bija (nutmeg) trees. Covering an expansive 448,165 meter area, the Bija trees in the forest are as old as 800 years old. Bijarim Forest’s main event, The New Millennium Nutmeg, is over 826 years old. Standing at 14 meters high it is said to grant happiness, glory, prosperity and wealth. In addition to the Bija trees, Bijarim Forest is home to 240 species of flora and fauna.
Dongbaek Dongsan - Ecological
Dongbaek Dongsan was created and formed after a volcanic eruption. The piles of rocks, stones and hardened lava fill the entire area. This area is a warm-evergreen forest where both northern and southern plants are able to grow together. Because of the nature of this forest, there is a high number of living organisms that coexist. This 5km trail will surround students in nature and along the way students will be making their own lunches here. There is a food culture course where students will use the acorn that was cultivated by the farmers to make their own acorn noodle soup!
Orange Farm - Agricultural
Although June is not the main harvesting season for Jeju oranges there is still a lot students can learn. Students will be able to learn the system and process the farmers go through each year from planting the seeds in what sort of formation to when the leaves, flowers, fruits grow and are ready to be harvested. Students will also be able to experience making different products from these oranges like scented soaps etc.
Manjang Cave - Geological
Manjang Cave (Manjanggul) is a lava tube located in the northeast part of Jeju Island. The cave was designated as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site in 2007 and is the 12th largest lava flow in the world at 7,416 meters. In addition to its impressive length, the cave boasts lava bridges, lava flowlines, and the largest lava column in the world at 7.6 meters. Students will enter a 1 kilometer section of the lava tube that is open to the public.
Seongsan Volcano - Geological
This is also known as "Sunrise Peak", Seongsan Volcano is a tuff cone volcano located in the east of Jeju Island. The volcano was designated as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site due to the preserved nature to its internal and external topography. A 2-hour hike up and down the volcano features beautiful views of the sea and coastline surround Jeju.
Haenyeo Museum - Agricultural
The Haenyeo are the famous women divers of Jeju. Deeply rooted in the culture and economy of Jeju, Haenyeo use their advanced diving skills to harvest different types of seafood that Jeju Island has to offer. The Haenyeo Museum offers a glimpse into the important history and culture of the women, including their inception as a major part of the Jeju economy, their methods and traditions, as well as their role in the independence of Korea.
Jeju Horse Riding Park - Zoological
The Jeju Horse Riding Park offers hands-on experience for the students to ride horses. Each student will get to take a 15-minute horseback riding course through the beautiful scenery of Redwood Trees. They will learn the basics of horseback riding, the different equipments and gear needed etc. At the end of this course, students will have a chance to feed the horses carrots and special made horse-friendly cookies!
Achim Miso Farm - Zoological
This farm is a biological conservation area designated by UNESCO. This is a cow farm and students will be able to be up close with the cows. This farm is home to both cows and calves which will allow students to have the opportunity to feed the cows food and feed the calves milk! There is also a section of the farm where students can learn the agriculture of animal farms as well. This farm offers a program where students are taught to make ice cream using the milk that has been collected.
