British School

Hero

INTERNATIONAL. FAMILY FOCUSED.

The British School is one of the four sections housed on the Seoul Foreign School campus, offering an alternate curricular pathway to the High School. Students who attend the British School enjoy small class sizes, a close-knit community, and the many benefits that Seoul Foreign School has to offer. We welcome students of all nationalities and backgrounds.

As a British School, Maths and Literacy are delivered based directly on the English National Curriculum. Teaching and learning of all other subjects is shared through the frameworks of the IEYC (International Early Years Curriculum), IPC (International Primary Curriculum) and IMYC (International Middle Years Curriculum). These frameworks give the learning rigour to inspire excellence and the international, societal and personal perspectives to build character in all aspects of school life.

WE CRAFT CIRCUMSTANCES IN OUR LEARNING COMMUNITY FOR CHILDREN TO EXPERIENCE THINKING, RELEVANCE AND COLLABORATION ON THEIR LEARNING JOURNEY AS WE PREPARE THEM FOR THE 4TH INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION AND BEYOND.

Our expectations of the students are high and they perform well in standardised assessments, comparing well with the best international schools in the world. Whilst academics are important to all of our families, we recognise the need for balance and our sports, art, music, and drama facilities rank among the best in Asia. Our extracurricular programmes offer a wide range of challenge and opportunity.

Assessment

As we focus on supporting learning for each individual, we share each child's progress in real-time (every unit of learning) with parents, enabling a clear and open dialogue between the school, the parents and, most importantly, the student.

Our skills-based, mastery model of assessment considers the skills needed by students across a range of subjects and then focuses on the development of those skills through the teaching and learning process.

Formal assessments take place throughout the year. We use a range of UK and international standardised assessments to ensure that we remain competitive with other schools, both in the UK and abroad. Our students consistently score above average, and we work hard to maintain high standards and expectations.
