Eligibility

Students are eligible to apply if parents can provide all documents detailed below:

  • Copy of valid passport title page of child, father, and mother
  • Copy of child’s birth certificate or Korean Family Registry

Students must also submit all documents from one of the categories below:

  • Both parents are foreign citizens (they do not hold Korean passports)
  • Copy (front and back) of parents’ Alien Registration Cards
  • Proof of English fluency for child - may require an ELL test administered by Seoul Foreign School
  • One parent is a foreign citizen (he/she does not hold a Korean passport)
    • Copy (front and back) of parents’ Alien Registration Card
    • Proof of English fluency – may require an ELL test administered by Seoul Foreign School
  • Both parents have Korean citizenship (including those who hold dual passports, one being Korean)
    1. Student’s Certificate of Entry and Exit issued by the Seoul Immigration Office (original required) – must show that the child has spent 1095 days or more outside of Korea
      • If student is a dual citizen, a Certificate of Entry and Exit must be provided for both passports

OR

  • Proof of at least 6 semesters of schooling outside of Korea beginning in Senior Kindergarten (or the school age equivalent) and above

AND

  • Proof of English fluency – may require an ELL test administered by Seoul Foreign School

*Foreign citizens are those that do not hold a Korean passport.

Academics

The Elementary and Middle Schools follow a US-style curriculum. The British division follows the National Curriculum of England. In the High School Gr. 9-10 students may choose to take the IGCSE Program and for Gr. 11-12 we offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program. Namsan Int'l Kindergarten is a PYP candidate school.

Athletics

SFS athletes develop character, responsibility, dedication, commitment, teamwork, leadership, and experience applicable in all areas of life.  While our teams enjoy winning results in competitive conferences, we measure success well beyond the win-loss column.

Fine Arts

Seoul Foreign School enjoys a long history of rich curricular and co-curricular performing and visual arts programs.  Over 90% of our students are involved in the arts each year and are showcased in our visual arts displays and over 40 annual public performances put on by our music and drama departments.
