Middle School Curriculum
Seoul Foreign Middle School provides students with a unique international education, based on recognized academic standards. With our school’s recent acceptance to be a candidate school for the MYP, please review our FAQ document for more details.
Curriculum & Assessment
The MS MYP curriculum framework reflects the standards adopted in each subject area. These standards spiral throughout the grades to ensure that knowledge and skills are acquired in a timely manner and equip students to be successful as they move from grade to grade. Our curriculum framework is inquiry based, providing students with opportunities that challenge them to think critically and creatively.
Assessment is at the heart of learning. We measure student progress through a variety of assessment tasks and observations. Assessments vary and include but are not limited to written and oral tests, projects, presentations, and portfolios. Our approach to learning is child-centered and recognizes that children learn in different ways and at different rates.
Students in SFMS also participate in MAP (Measurement of Academic Progress) testing two times a year. This is a formative assessment that helps guide instruction and assists students in setting achievement goals. We are also able to compare SFS scores with scores of other schools throughout the world. This data helps us monitor our program integrity to ensure that we are offering the very best education.
