Daily Schedule
Students have an 8-period schedule. Each student has a double period of combined Language Arts and Social Studies, called Humanities and a double period of Math/Science everyday. Those classes start at 8:20 AM and continue until 11:20 AM, with a 10 minute break between the blocks. Starting at 11:25 AM, all students begin a series of three 45-minute classes and a lunch period, which include a PE class, a performance class (band, orchestra, choir, or drama), and other exploratory classes such as reading skills, classroom aids, careers, cooking, climbing, computer, art, photography, and other problem-based learning experiences.
Included in those three periods is a 45-minute session of Spanish, French, or Korean everyday. English language learners have an additional class of academic English writing. At the end of each day all students go to a 30-minute Advisory class which incorporates life skills, character education, Christian studies, supervised study time, and silent reading.
Middle School students have a full menu of choices for after-school sports and activities which include soccer, swimming, volleyball, basketball, jazz band, strings, choir, Christian activity groups, quilting, crafts, and others. Many students are after school until 5:00 PM several days a week. There are also many organized sports and activities available in the community as well.
