Middle School Program
To borrow heavily from Mel Levine, we know that every mind is uniquely endowed and that there are different ways that students learn and find success. We understand that each child has strengths and weaknesses. We are committed to partnering with professionals, the parents, and the students to strengthen each student’s strengths and affinities and to scaffold their weaknesses by learning about how to learn and to foster optimism in their lives.
Our program has been modeled after National Middle School Association guidelines and the SFS Mission Statement. We teach children, not just curriculum. We involve colleagues and parents. We utilize professional standards, grade level benchmarks, and best practice to shape instruction. We reflect on strengths and seek to learn from mistakes. We are grounded in Christian values—love, faith, hope, joy, honesty, integrity, self-control, acceptance of others, forgiveness, compassion, and service. Seoul Foreign Middle School seeks to shape hearts and minds and prepare young adolescents to shed light in our world.
