Communication
The Middle School has many avenues for communication. First and foremost is to contact us personally by phone or email anytime you have a question, a request, or a concern. Current students and parents are given a directory of telephone numbers and emails to use if they need to contact anyone in the Middle School. If you have a question or concern, please do not hesitate to ask the Principal, the Counselor, or Mrs. Woo for assistance.
Our main avenue of communication about all facets of the Middle School and the Seoul Foreign School community is our online bulletin board Edline. Once a student is enrolled at SFS, the student and the parents are given access to Edline, which contains daily announcements, handbooks, PTA news, information on each class in the student’s schedule, after-school sports, activities, music, drama, Christian ministries, and all other essentials about life in the Middle School. We even put the daily announcements and lunch menus online each day so that students and parents can stay informed. Teachers and Grade Level teams post information about classes and special events on Edline as well.
Partnering with parents is essential if we are going to provide the best education for every child in the Middle School. Each month the Principal attends Middle School PTA meetings to answer questions and to get feedback from parents. Parent coffees with the Principal are sponsored by the PTA several times a year. They are held on campus and in family homes in the city. Back to School night happens in the first few weeks of school. Parent and student orientation days are held in August and in January for those attending SFS for the first time.
The Middle School divides the school year into 12-week trimesters. Students receive a Mid-Trimester Report and a Trimester Report every 12 weeks. These are sent home electronically and on paper.
