Daily Schedule
Students study mathematics, language arts, science and social studies in their grade level classes. In addition, students have specialist teachers in the following subjects: art, computers, Korean, music, physical education, and if needed English as a Second Language (ESL). Classroom schedules vary but each class in the grade level meets the same amount of time with their homeroom and specialist teachers. The scheduled day designations run as A, B, C, D ,and E. Students attend the same amount of specialist classes throughout the year because when holidays land on a calendar day the A-E designation is skipped so the class does not miss the special. For example, if Thursday is ‘D’ day and a holiday falls on Friday, the following Monday would be designated as an ‘E’ day. That follows throughout the year.
A six day rotation of schedules is being pursued for the elementary school in 2007-2008 as scheduling for the four divisions is under review in order to maximize the use of facilities.
