Eligibility Process
  • Applicants must hold a foreign passport and live with at least one of his/her parents or a legal guardian recognized by the school.
  • Applicants must meet SFS academic and behavioral standards. Their previous academic history and admissions testing must indicate that they can achieve at a level comparable to SFS students.
  • Applicants requiring the assistance of an ESL program will be enrolled on a space available basis after a personal interview and testing. Only those students who can reasonably be expected to function on grade level in English within 24 calendar months will be considered for enrollment. Categories 4 and 5 applicants who require ESL instruction and for whom Korean is their first language are not be eligible for admission. No more than three ESL students will be enrolled in any classroom in Senior Kindergarten and above. No more than two students with the same first language will be enrolled in any Preschool or Junior Kindergarten classroom.
  • Category 3 applicants who are siblings of currently enrolled students will be moved to the top of the waitlist.
  • Students whose most recent school experience has been in a Korean school are not eligible for admission if his/her enrollment duration in a Korean school exceeds the preceding eighteen calendar months.
